Do you legally need witnesses to get married in Cornwall?
Yes. In England and Wales every marriage and civil partnership needs two witnesses present for the whole ceremony, and both sign the register afterwards.
Who can be a wedding witness?
Anyone old enough to understand what is happening and able to sign their name. They do not need to know you, and they do not need to be family.
How much does an elopement witness in Cornwall cost?
Most local witnesses ask somewhere between £50 and £75 for their time and travel. Each person lists their own guideline, and you settle it with them directly on the day.
